Paper - Drip Art

What We Did:
In this activity we took the time to review our primary and secondary colors, then we learned about the artist Jackson Pollock. He was important to this project because we were using the "drip" effect that he was known for. For this art project we cut out three shapes, then we took shaving creme and food coloring to make the swirls. The colors were chosen by the teacher, but the students were allowed to swirl their own art. Once they have a swirl that they were satisfied with they put their shape in the shaving creme. After pulling the shaving creme out we scrapped the excess creme off and under it was a bold design. After we completed all three shapes we glues them down and colored boarders on. At the bottom we wrote a sentence of why we chose our unique design and titled it!

Extension Activity:
An extension to this activity could be as simple as having more shapes and colors for the students to choose from. With that the teacher could have many discussions on shapes and the different colors that could come out of mixing them.
