What We Did:
In this activity we dived into the knowledge of different printmakers and where it all began. For this project we started by creating a design on a small square paper, then we traced that onto a small piece of styrofoam. For our background we were to choose between the three cool colors or the three warm colors and lightly shade the whole paper. We then took rollers with paint on them to go over the styrofoam. There was one corner that we kept in the middle to create a symmetrical piece. Once we turned the styrofoam all four ways we had a final product.
Extension Activity:
I would incorporate this with science. I would take the students on a nature walk to have them pick a leaf. They would take the leaf and try to trace it. After they have a good resemblance the students can paint them and place it on a piece of paper.
